English painting steps
- Sky: Base-coat the starry sky with #21 using a large brush.
- Stars and moon: Base-coat the stars and moon with #32.
- Mountains: Base-coat the mountains with #24.
- Cypress and village trees: Base-coat the foreground cypress and village trees with #14.
- Tree highlights: Paint the lit sides of the trees with #17 and #2.
- Dark sky swirls: Use #6, #17 and #24 with a small brush to deepen the swirling sky.
- Light sky swirls: Paint the bright parts of the swirls with #32 and #2.
- Star halos: Enrich the halos with #2, #32 and #8 using a small brush.
- Moon: Mix #32 and #8 (3:1). Paint the moon.
- Mountain shadows: Paint the dark parts of the mountains with #6 using a small brush.
- Mountain highlights: Paint the lighter parts with #21.
- Houses: Base-coat the houses with #6 using a small brush.
- House highlights: Paint the lit sides with #17.
- Lights: Paint the house lights with #32.
- Frame: Mix #24 and #2 (1:1). Paint the frame with a large brush.
- Cypress detail: Sweep #17 along the cypress edges to enrich the color.
