English painting steps
- Wave shadows: Paint the wave shadows with #31 using a large brush.
- Darkest wave shadows: Paint the darkest wave areas with #6 using a large brush.
- Light wave shadows: Mix #21 and #31. Paint the lighter wave-shadow areas with a large brush.
- Boats: Mix #11 and #12. Paint the boats with a large brush.
- Boat shadows: Add a little #6 for the dark parts of the boats.
- Boatmen: Paint the boatmen's clothes with #31 using a small brush.
- Dark background: Paint the background behind the mountain with #1 using a large brush.
- Background gradient: Gradually mix in #2 to create a smooth gradient.
- Sky: Mix #2 and #11 with a little #8. Paint the sky with a large brush, following the cloud shapes.
- Mount Fuji: Paint the dark areas of Mount Fuji with #6 using a small brush.
- Outlines: Use a small brush with #6 to outline the waves, boats and boatmen.
- Spray: Dot on #2 to create the water spray.
