English painting steps
- Horizon and shoreline: Apply masking tape slightly above the board's center for a straight horizon. Outline the boundary between sea and beach with #34 using a small brush.
- Sea gradient: With a large brush, paint horizontally right to left from the horizon using #24, gradually adding #21 for pale blue. Paint left to right with #34, adding #2 to blend naturally into the right-hand sea.
- Beach texture: Mix #9 and #34 (1:10), then add quartz sand (paint:sand 1:1). Spread the beach with a palette knife and tap with its back for natural texture. Let dry before continuing.
- Waves and shells: Mix #2 with quartz sand (1:1). Press and drag with the back of a palette knife to shape the waves. Use a brush for finer effects if desired. Glue small shells onto the beach.
- Sky: Remove the masking tape. Paint upward from the horizon with #11 using a large brush. Gradually add #2, #30 and #34 to enrich the cloud colors.
- Clouds: Paint clouds with #34 using a large brush. Add a little #27 for shaded sides and #2 for highlights.
