English painting steps
- Set the mood: Slow down, add fragrance and play music you enjoy. Let yourself settle into painting.
- Optional fragrance: Lightly drip plant essential oil onto the blank back of the board for a soothing scent while creating.
- Sea: Prepare your tools. Mix #2 and #21 (3:1). Paint the water with a large brush and fill narrow gaps with a small brush.
- Tail and top: Use #21 and #40 for the tail, varying the proportions for a gradient. Mix #30 and #40 (1:1) for the mermaid's top.
- Hair: Use #21, #40, #30 and #2 separately, painting from the hair ends toward the crown for a natural gradient.
- Skin and face: Mix #2 and #33 (2:1) for the skin. Use #33 for inner ears, blush and mouth. With a small brush, use #40 for eyebrows and eyelashes.
- Starfish, dolphin and shells: Mix #2 and #11 (4:1) for the starfish headpiece and dolphin's back. Use #2 for its belly, #40 for its eyes, and #21 and #33 for the shells.
- Frame and sparkle: Mix #21 and #2 (2:1). Base-coat the frame with a large brush. Sweep FP glitter crystal over the starfish, shells and mermaid tail.
