English painting steps
- Background and frame: With a large brush, base-coat the background with #8. Use #11 for the lower frame and #11 + #2 (1:1) for the upper frame. Blend the join naturally.
- Cat: Base-coat the cat with #2 using a large brush.
- Face: Mix #34 and #2 (1:4) for blush and inner-ear shadows. Use a small brush with #34 for the nose and mouth, and #11 for the eyebrows.
- Eyes: Use a small brush with #25 for eyeliner, lashes and dark eye areas; #21 for lighter areas; and dots of #2 and #11 for highlights.
- Paper airplane and hearts: With a large brush, mix #21 and #2 (2:1) for the paper airplane. Mix #34 and #2 (1:1) for the hearts.
- Finishing details: Paint background stars and moon with #2 using a small brush. Dot on #11 and #34 to enrich the background. Mix #11 and #2 (1:3) for shadows on the neck and beneath the limbs.
