English painting steps
- Set the mood: Slow down, add fragrance and play music you enjoy. Let yourself settle into painting.
- Optional fragrance: Lightly drip plant essential oil onto the blank back of the board for a soothing scent while creating.
- Background and frame: Base-coat the background and frame with #33 using a large brush.
- Water: Mix #33 and #36 (1:1). Sweep downward over the background water, allowing some base color to show through.
- Hair: Mix #10 and #2 (1:1) for the hair base. Then mix them (1:4) and paint downward from the crown for a natural gradient.
- Skin and face: Mix #2 and #33 (2:1) for the skin. With a small brush, use #33 for inner ears, blush and mouth, and #21 for eyebrows and eyelashes.
- Shell gradient: Mix #2 and #21 (2:1) for the bottom of the shell. Use #33 for the upper half and blend the join naturally.
- Shell sparkle and water: Paint the inner shell with FP glitter crystal using a large brush. Use a small brush with #44 for the sparkling water highlights.
